| Flour, all-purpose | 3 cups |
| Sugar | 1 cup |
| Baking powder | 1 tbsp |
| Salt | 1/2 tsp |
| Nutmeg | 1/4 tsp |
| Milk | 1 cup |
| Eggs | 2 large |
| Butter or Margarine | 3 tbsp melted |
| Vanilla | 1 tsp |
| Sugar, powdered | 1-1/4 cup |
Directions
Pour enough vegetable oil into a large heavy saucepan or deep-fat fryer to measure 2 inches. Preheat the oil to 365 degrees F.
Combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg in a large bowl and mix well.
Whisk milk, eggs, melted butter and vanilla extract in a small bowl until blended. Add milk mixture to flour mixture and mix well.
Drop the batter by rounded teaspoonfuls into the hot oil; do not crowd the dough nuts. Cook until golden on all sides, about 2 minutes per dough nut. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle dough nuts with the confectioners' sugar
